Some women don’t just join organizations… they bring legacy, leadership, and a whole lot of
purpose with them. That’s exactly what we gain in welcoming our newest member, Cheryl
Goza.
Cheryl joins IWIL with a legacy of service, leadership, and impact. She brings over 25 years
of experience with the Illinois State Library, where she served as a Library Specialist in both
reference services and diversity initiatives. Her career reflects a strong commitment to
access, equity, and education.
Her dedication to community is just as powerful. Cheryl has served as the Immediate Past
Treasurer of the Springfield Branch NAACP and as a Past Election Procedures Chair for the
Illinois State Conference NAACP, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to advocacy
and civic engagement.
Driven by a passion for serious activism and meaningful impact, Cheryl is excited to
continue her service through IWIL and plans to get involved with the Community Health
Giving Circle, supporting initiatives that promote the health and well-being of our
community.
Cheryl is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated since 1972,
embodying a lifelong dedication to service and sisterhood.
Grounded in faith, she is a member of Kumler United Methodist Church.
As a new member, Cheryl represents the kind of leadership, experience, and heart that
strengthens IWIL. We are honored to welcome her into our sisterhood.
